Do I need a firearms license?
You do not need a firearms license.
Full coaching, equipment and supervision is provided as part of the experience.
If you are shooting at the Club for the first time, you are required to complete a Form 33.
For all subsequent visits, a Form 33A must be completed.
Photo ID must be presented on the day.
What should I wear?
Flat closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times.
We recommend you bring hats and sunglasses and be SunSmart and protect your skin.
Sunscreen is available at the club.
If you wear corrective lenses for distance, bring them, as they can be beneficial during the activity.
Yes, fancy dress for the Buck or Hen parties.
Can my children also enjoy clay target shooting?
In Queensland, children from age 11 can start to participate in clay target shooting.
Clay target shooting promotes a healthy and active lifestyle and teaches discipline, concentration, and respect for firearms.
Gympie Clay Target Club’s instructors have taught many children and are always accommodating and helpful.
When can I come and do I have to book?
Gympie Clay Target Club holds practice days on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month.
There is no need to book at this time, however, please keep in mind this is a volunteer-run club.
It is recommended that you arrive promptly at 12:00pm.
Depending on the number of people attending on the day, we may not be able to guarantee everyone an opportunity to shoot.
How much does it cost?
For beginners with NO experience and non-Members requiring Supervision.
The cost is $125 per person, which includes gun hire, range fees, a safety officer, 25 clay targets, ammunition, and coaching from qualified instructors.
Can I have a private event at the Club?
Gympie Clay Target Club takes bookings for Corporate Days, Bucks Parties, Hens Parties and similar events.
Minimum charges and participant numbers apply.

Are EFTPOS facilities available at the Club?
Gympie Clay Target Club has EFTPOS facilities, however AMEX is not accepted.
